Chianti Classico from Banfi is made from
sangiovese grapes, has dark ruby color with medium weight, with a nose of dark fruits, cherries, plums, earth/leather and violets. Palate: cherries, tobacco & wood. Great with red sauces but I had it with a porterhouse steak. Let this wine open for a few hours and you'll get the optimum value of this $16 bargain. Also pairs well with Pavaroti singing
Nessun Dorma from Puccini's Turandot (how
MUSIC ALTERS WINE'S TASTE).
