From Velenosi vineyards in Offida and Castel di Lama in the Marche region of Italy, this blend of Montepulciano, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot is aged in French oak for 18 months. Ruby red in color with bold fruity aromas of cherries, dark berries and licorice, the palate expresses a cassis and plum silkiness reflecting its subtle tannins.
Tasted this at a recent wine show and my notes do not have the vintage, I'm guessing it was an '02 or '03, whichever it was I enjoyed it very much.
